Megavideo for Dummies:

Megavideo is having troubles. We apologize for this inconvience, to solve this problem please refresh a few times until it does work, if that doesn't work, refresh and click the Megavideo banner on the bottom right of the screen.

I'm aware that MegaVideo now has a new restriction of 72 minutes watching time every 2 hours.

From what I understand, I think there is a way to avoid that.

[1] Find the video you want to watch. (You may have to wait until the video buffers all the way before you continue with these steps)
[2] Set your status to offline. (File > Work Offline)
[3] Watch your video.
[4] Set your status back.
[5] Find another video, and repeat.

I've heard this works for some, it may not. Don't complain about it here.

well one solution is to download real player which will should allow you to right click on a vid from megavideo and download it to your realplayer library

MegaVideo Problems

"Video Removed" or "Copyright Infringment" Error
These videos are dead. so please report them so they can be fixed by our linkers

"Temporarily Unavailable"
If you encounter these kinds of problems when playing MegaVideo vids, all you need to do is watch it from their site. To do that, just refresh the page where the video is and press any part of the video that is OUTSIDE the PLAY BUTTON at the center. or just press the MEGAVIDEO LOGO on the lower right.

MegaVideo Viewing Limits
As you all know MegaVideo now has limits in viewing videos. I think you are only allowed to watch 1 hour of video airtime every 2 hours.
So heres what i can say.. (Methods below are arranged from most effective to least effective)

Method 1: Conserve (This is BEST SOLUTION)

Method 2: Setting up a proxy to change IP

I think the Type is not important ^_^. After choosing an IP and its port, set your browser to use a proxy.

In Firefox you'll have to do this:

Go to Tools -> Options -> Advanced -> Network -> Press "Settings" -> Choose "Manual proxy Configuration" -> Input the IP and the Port which you selected -> Check "Use this proxy server for all protocols" -> Press "OK" -> and that's all

In Internet Explorer (IE7) you'll have to do this (Google Chrome and IE has the same settings)

Test if the proxy is working by accessing Google.com. If you are able to go to google with the proxy settings, try viewing the video you wanted to watch in megavideo if it is now working. if it is still limiting you, go back to step 1 and find another IP.

Remember, not all proxy IP's are working. So if the IP and port aren't working, choose another set of IP and port. ^_^

You can also use this in some other things like going to sites that you are country or IP is blocked.

You can also try this program which automatically sets a proxy IP to your browsers.

Method 3: Apply for MegaVideo PREMIUM

Method 4: Restarting Modem to change IP

Method 5: Release and Renew your IP (For windows users only)

In the command prompt type "ipconfig /release" (there will be a delay of 3-10 secs)
Then lastly type "ipconfig /renew"

note: don't include the quotation marks. ^_^

This method is not surefire to bypass the time limit, but, so far, it has worked for me 9 times out of 10. unfortunately, this method only works with firefox and internet explorer, so i'm sorry to those people that don't use either of those browsers. It involves a little program called Ultrasurf. it's a proxy program, but it also allows you to use chatango. the url for it is http://www.ultrareach.net/download_en.htm if you use internet explorer, you just need to download ultrasurf and run it, and you should be able to bypass the megavideo time limit. if you use firefox, then you also have to download the firefox add on located on the download page. to install the add on, just drag it onto the firefox icon, and it will install. then, run the ultrasurf program, and activate the firefox plug in by clicking on the text or icon that appears in the bottom right of your browser. if it still gives you a time limit, stop and re-start ultrasurf, and you will be at a different ip, and you will hopefully be able to get around the time limit. sometimes, the video wont load completely, but it will usually load about 90% of the video. if you need any help, pm me on chatango, im solostaran
